Fair trade

Art Brasilis was created with the fair trade principles as basis for our project. Fair Trade is a trading partnership, based on dialogue, transparency and respect, that seeks greater equity in international trade. The goal is to maintain a fair relationship among all parts involved in the production chain. WFTO (World Fair Trade Organization) is the home of fair traders: producers, marketers, exporters, importers, wholesalers and retailers that demonstrate 100% commitment to Fair Trade and apply the 10 WFTO Principles of Fair Trade in their daily operations. WFTO proposes 10 Principles that Fair Trade Organizations must follow: Principle One: Creating Opportunities for Economically Disadvantaged Producers Principle Two: Transparency and Accountability Principle Three: Fair Trading Practices Principle Four:   Payment of a Fair Price Principle Five:  Ensuring no Child Labor and Forced Labor Principle Six:  Commitment to Non Discrimination, Gender Equity and Women’s Economic Empowerment and Freedom of Association Principle Seven:  Ensuring Good Working Conditions Principle Eight:  Providing Capacity Building Principle Nine:  Promoting Fair Trade Principle Ten: Respect for the Environment All organizations accepted by WFTO, after the last phase of evaluation, receive a label certifying the accordance to the Fair trade principles. This way, the consumer can be assured about the origin of the products  and the organization’s practices. We are pleased to share that since 2014 Art Brasilis has become a WFTO member.
